An update

Sorry it's been so long since I've posted an update on Kaitlyn!
Here is an update...a little one, but that's all I have time for...
Kaitlyn has been taken off of the ventilator and is breathing on her own. She continues to take steps forward everyday. She opened her eyes slightly (about 1/4 an inch) yesterday and moved a little bit more. She is doing very well breathing on her own, and her fever remains steady. We hopefully will move to the rehab floor on Monday to begin the next phase of her recovery.
Keep her in your prayers!

Another Update

They have had the hip surgery done and she's gone through that just fine. They were supposed to have the leg surgery today, but she had a small fever sinse thursday so they aborted the surgery till 8:00 on Saturday (a.m. that is) (That's TODAY!) They might have to do a culture to know if the fever is an infection and so they know the exact kind of antibiotics to suscribe. Pray that all goes well Saturday and that the temperature goes down.
Thank you all for your prayers and support! :)

Update

Here is an update!
"If you haven’t heard Kaitlyn, Bethany and Bruce (Bethany’s dad) were hit by a drunk driver Friday night. Bethany had to be taken by ambulance to the hospital and Kaitlyn had to have Careflight take her by helicopter to another hospital. Bethany has since been released and has a broken clavicle and cuts on her face – along with being very sore. (I hope I am getting all of their injuries correct I apologize if I miss something or get it mixed up.) Kaitlyn currently has a brain injury that is the most pressing matter for her. They put in a “bolt” Saturday morning to relieve the pressure and it seems to have done that. The next 48 hours are crucial so please pray for no more pressure to build up in her brain. Once that is taken care of she has the following injuries to deal with: fractured neck vertebrate, broken ribs, punctured lung, lacerated liver, ruptured spleen, damage to one kidney, broken sternum, broken pelvis/hip and broken lower right leg. You can see this is going to be a lengthy process for her to get well. Right now both girls and Bruce need you prayers. Kaitlyn needs the pressure to quit building in her brain, Bethany just needs healing and Bruce needs healing as well. He did absolutely nothing wrong but at the time of this accident he was responsible for someone else’s child and he feels very bad that this happened. It’s easy to look from the outside and know there was nothing he could do – but we all know it would be hard to look at ourselves without feeling guilty. Please pray that God will give him the peace that he needs right now."
That was one of the emails I got.
"I will do my best to update y'all on her conditions. She went from a 20 in brain pressure (25 is the worst) to a 6 (3 is about where average humans stand) with a shunt put into her head. A shunt is like a straw to drain fluids and to relieve pressure. Please pray for the doctors to be able to fix the broken bones, punctured lung, and cut spleen and kidney. Please pray for her family and friends. And please pray this will all be over soon with no long term effects. Pray for a miracle."
That is another.
"I did find out a lot more about her injuries yesterday. Besides the head trauma which is the primary concern, she has injuries to these areas: punctured heart, broken sternum, broken ribs, punctured lung, injured spleen & liver, kidney, pelvis bone broken, and broken leg. Also, Kaitlyn survived leukemia when she was 3 years old. Her family already has a strong testimony, and I'm believing the Lord will give them another through this whole event."
That is the last one. You can see that Kaitlyn still needs a lot of prayer. Please pray!

Urgent prayer request

I would like to ask you to pray for Kaitlyn. To be honest, I haven't ever met her in my life, but she goes to my church.
Last night (Friday night) her friend and her friend's dad was driving her home from some kind of activity. They got hit by a drunk driver. Everyone in the car was injured, but Kaitlyn is in the Intensive Care Unit at the hospital here. She has a punctured lung, broken ribs, a broken arm, many internal injuries and brain damage. Guys...please pray for her! She is only 12...she has so much life in front of her.
Please pray for:
Healing for Kaitlyn
Healing for her friend and her friend's dad
Comfort for her family
Comfort for those close to her
Thank you so much! I am sorry that I don't have more details. I will try to get you more details when I get them.
